South African actor and director. Studied at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg and at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris [1]. Formed the Fresco Theatre Company [2] in 2002 with his wife Helen Iskander.
James is a leading South African actor and theatre maker. Trained at Lecoq in the early 90s James went back to South Africa to found Fresco Theatre which won numerous awards in South Africa and the UK including a Fringe First at Edinburgh for Baobabs Don’t Grow Here. James teaches and directs widely and currently stars in 2 of South Africa’s most popular TV series.
