The original text

This 10 minute, one-man, piece (with no dialogue) tells of a tramp rooting through rubbish and finding two drumsticks, with which he starts playing a rhythm on an upturned tin can, rising above the ruckus of the city. A work originally commissioned for the Kentucky Festival of New American Plays and produced by Actors Theatre of Louisville, directed by Michael Hankins and performed by Dierk Toporzysek on February 27, 1980.
