Simon Cooper was born in Cape Town on October 31, 1947 and grew up on the False Bay coast.  Having a fishing mad father meant that growing up he spent a lot of time on fishing boats of Kalk Bay and in contact with the Kalk Bay fishing community of the time. He has three grown children from his first marriage and a step-son from my current marriage to Helen Brent Cooper, a print maker and much more.

Biography

Simon Cooper was born in Cape Town on October 31, 1947 and grew up on the False Bay coast. Having a fishing mad father meant that growing up he spent a lot of time on fishing boats of Kalk Bay and in contact with the Kalk Bay fishing community of the time. He has three grown children from his first marriage and a step-son from his marriage to Helen Brent Cooper.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Co-founder of the Kalk Bay Theatre and KBT Productions in 2004 with Helen Cooper, Nicholas Ellenbogen and Liz Ellenbogen.

He is a patron of the STAND Foundation.
