Heugh Road Blues is a comedy devised by Phambili Ngcayisa (?-?), Patrick Majola (?-?), Luks Hlungula (?-?) and Gift Buqa (1959-2014).

The original text

The play is about a group of men who sit and wait on the corner of Heugh Road and Third Avenue Walmer to be offered casual jobs by passing motorists. It uses comedy and some a cappella vocals to create social commentary.

Performance history in South Africa

2004: The play was presented by the Port Elizabeth Opera House in The Barn in August 2004 with the following cast: Phambili Ngcayisa, Patrick Majola, Luks Hlungula and Gift Buqa. It was presented as a Double Bill with Tom Ruiters.
