The title is a reference to the popular Afrikaans folk song, Die Trane die Rol oor jou Bokkie….

The playtext published as a performance text by DALRO in 1968 and as well as in the collection Twee Sente vir 'n Pêrel: Drie Eenakters by J.L. van Schaik.
