De Onechte Dochter ("The illegitimate daughter") is a play by Johannes Phillippus Meijer (1779-1852)[1].

The author's name is given as "J.P. Meyer" by Bosman (1928).

Published by J. Dóll, Amsterdam, in 1806 in the series Zedelijk schouwtooneel der menschelyke hartstochten en daaden

Performance history in South Africa

1824: Performed by Tot Nut en Vermaak in the African Theatre, Cape Town on 21 August, with Het Huwelyk van den Capucyn (Pelletier-Volméranges, tr. Tack).

1849: Performed by Hoop en Trouw in the African Theatre, Cape Town on 8 May , with Getrouw tot in den Dood (Westerman).

1852: Performed by Door Yver Bloeit de Kunst in the Bree Street Theatre, Cape Town on 16 September, with Uilenspiegel (Von Kotzebue).
