Described as "an allegory in one act" and published as Symphony in Illusion: An Allegory in One Act by Samuel French, 1933 (Acting edition 467).

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Afrikaans as Illusie-Simfonie ("Illusion Symphony") by Marguerite I. Murray. Text available at the University of Stellenbosch Library, Manuscripts Section, reference MS 31/16/8.

Performance history in South Africa

1943: Symphony in Illusion was presented at the Little Theatre by the University of Cape Town Speech and Drama Department in September, directed by Ruth Peffers.

1948: Performed in Afrikaans as Illusie-Simfonie in August by K.A.T., directed by Lily-Jean Satusky.
