Niël le Roux is a playwright, director and cultural organiser.

Biography

Studied at the University of Stellenbosch.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

While a student at Stellenbosch he wrote and directed the play Sprokieskoningkryk van die Voortlewendes (1978) for production by university residences Huis Marais and Irene.

His career in the arts has encompassed being a founding member of the Kalfiefees, a senior manager at DALRO, a manager with the ATKV, CEO of the Suidoosterfees (2003 to 2014) and CEO of the Stigting vir Bemagtiging deur Afrikaans ("Foundation for empowerment through Afrikaans")[1]
