Caligula by Albert Camus. An influential play about cruelty and the arbitary exercise of power. Written in 1938 and first performed in France in 1945. English translation by Stuart Gilbert first performed in South Africa by Ruth Oppenheim’s company at the Windmill Theatre in 1955?* with Stanley Coghan.
