First produced in South Africa by the Brian Brooke Company in 1956, with Joan Blake, Diane Wilson (as Jane), directed by Michael Finlayson.

The performance on 26 November 1956 in which many theatre and radio personalities were involved was in aid of Hungary.

Taken on tour (1957) to the then Transvaal and Southern and Northern Rhodesia, with Separate Tables.
