John Jacobs is a mime artist.

Biography
Born in Cape Town, he started out as a performer for his father's Cape Coons team, and then received a bursary from the French Consulate to study at the world renowned Marcel Marceau School of Mime in Paris (1986-1989), obtaining a Diploma in mime, dance and acting. He lived and worked in Paris, France, for the 20 years. Since 2001 he has been based in Johannesburg.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He founded the company John Jacobs Mime Entertainment, producing shows such as My Passie vir Jesus (Aardklop Festival, 2016),
He is also works internationally on film sets to assist actors in the technique of fencing and movement.
