Nonqause is a Xhosa play by Mary W. Waters.
Not to be confused with the English play Nongqawuse: The Girl Who Killed to Save by H.I.E. Dhlomo.
The play offers a version of the story of the tragic Xhosa starvation resulting from the slaughter of the cattle, in response to the visions of the prophetess Nonqause (or Nongqawuse).
