ESAT is the acronym for the Encyclopaedia of South African Theatre, Film, Media and Performance (ESAT), an open access online encyclopaedia which derives from a project undertaken by the Centre for Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Stellenbosch, originally called A Companion to South African Theatre and Performance (COMSAT).
Conceived by project leader and executive editor Temple Hauptfleisch.
