He started with the SABC in 1973, in the period they set up television broadcasting in South Africa. In 1985 he moved to the fledgling Electronic Media Network (M-Net / MultiChoice), as one of the founding members (along with Koos Bekker and others) and their technical head. then moved a founding member of Electronic Media Network (M-Net / MultiChoice).
In 2003 he began a stint at ZSEtv / Sasani, and in 2005 he acquired Global Access Telecommunications Pty Ltd, a private multimedia digital signage and television broadcasting company supplying media services to the private and public sectors in South Africa.
