The Verdi Opera Company was one of a number of opera companies that visited South Africa between 1887-1912.
This particular company toured the country in 1890, opening in the Cape Town Opera House with Faust during in August. The company included Guglielmo Verdi (or William Verdi)and the singer and actress Emilie Melville (Mrs Verdi).
