The original text
This is the only play on record by J. George Moore, and nothing is really known about the author.
The pliece was first performed at the Theatre Royal Adelphi, London, on 11 February 1856 and on Broadway in Burton's Theatre presumably in the same year.
First published in London by London, Webster and Co. and then by Samuel French as No LXXVII of French's American Drama, London/New York 1856.
