Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Called "the first show-businessman of the Cape" by Jill Fletcher (1994, p.14), this Dutch Governor (1707-1711) actively encouraged entertainments in the growing colony, himself providing puppet shows, dog and bull fights and fireworks displays.
