Een Oom uit Californië ("an uncle from California") is a Dutch comedy in three acts by Johannes Hoek (1813-1893)[1].
Gillhoff (2013) lists a play De Oom uit Californië. Probably the same work.

A comedy written for the Rederijkers, published in Kampen, 1870.
Translations and adaptations
Hoek also wrote a five act play/adaptation called Een Oom uit Amerika[2] which was published by Van Hulst in 1875 (as Volume 23 of Tooneelfonds Van Hulst).
Performance history in South Africa
1872: Performed on 5 September by Aurora II in the Germania Hall, Cape Town, with a fragment of two acts from Gustaaf Wasa by Van Heyst.
