The New Magdalen is a play by Sutton Vane Sr (1847-1913)


The original text

Based on the eponymous novel by Wilkie Collins (1824-1889)[1], it was adapted for the stage as a play, consisting of a prologue and 3 acts.

1877: Performed by Disney Roebuck and his company in the Theatre Royal, Cape Town on 11 and 12 October, accompanied by a ballad sung by Gertrude Wynne.
