In the Cape Argus of 28 December, 1872,  it was reported that, while anchored in Cape Town harbour, the passengers and officers of the mailship [[Courland]] are reported as having presented a very successful "farcical charade" on board on Christmas Eve, the entertainment based on the word "Indignation", a piece reportedly written by a [[Mr Gibbs]].
