L'idiote is a play by French playwright and screenwriter Marcel Achard [1] (1899-1974).

Translated into English by American playwright Harry Kurnitz [2] entitled A Shot in the Dark.

Performance history in South Africa

Shot in the Dark was presented by NAPAC Drama, directed by Valerie Miller Brown at the Alhambra Theatre, Durban, from 4 June 1973 starring Mary Harrison and Bill Smale.
