She was born in Johannesburg
Training
Heather obtained a Diploma in Drama and Singing from the Performing Arts Workshop in Johannesburg. She graduated from UCT Drama School in 1991.
Career
She was a lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch and is a trained dramatherapist as well as a clinical psychologist (Koekemoer, 2006).
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
As a student Heather appeared in Fiddler on the Roof, The Entertainer, Blithe Spirit (1989), the Baxter Theatre production of Guys and Dolls and The Crucible. Her debut on the professional stage was as Shelley in Mrs Kaplan and the Witchdoctor, 1992. She appeared as Sophie in The Big Friendly Giant, 1993.
Co-founder of the Bonfire Theatre Company.
