The original text
A dramatization of the story Die Wegraak van Sannie ("The disappearance of Sannie") by Eugène Nielen Marais (first published in the journal Die Boerevrou and then in book form in Margriet van Laastelust en Die Wegraak van Sannie by Nasionale Pers in 1922).
The play was first published( with the full title given as "Sannie, Dramatisering van die Wegraak van Sannie, van Eugène N. Marais") in 1930 by J.L. van Schaik, Pretoria.
