The play depicts the actor John Barrymore a few months before his death in 1942 as he is rehearsing a revival of his 1920 Broadway triumph as Richard III. [2]
Translations and adaptations
Performance history in South Africa
Staged by Pieter Toerien Productions in August 1998 in the Rex Garner Theatre, directed by Geoffrey Hyland, with Michael Atkinson and Adrian Galliard. The same production was staged in the Theatre on the Bay in November 1998.
