Koos Holtzhausen (194*-) is professional engineer and a former lecturer in Electrical Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch.

Biography

Besides his interest in his original subject, he also has an interest in Afrikaans and German literature. After his retirement in 2001 he therefore studied for a BA Hons (German), MPhil (Journalism) and a BA Hons (Translation) and studied French as well.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

In 2016 he did a free translation of a scene from Lessing's Nathan der Weise (Act 3, Scene 7) into Afrikaans and published it in LitNet as part of the article "Nathan der Weise van Gotthold Ephraim Lessing vandag nog steeds, dalk éérs, relevant" by Holtzhausen (2016-07-27).
