Irene Menell (1932-) [1]. One of the facilitators for the seminal black musical King Kong (1959), who – with journalist Pat Williams and the help of composer Todd Matshikiza - produced the synopsis on which Harry Bloom based his book for the musical and facilitated the 1959 production by Union Artists.
For many years, she served as the chairperson of the Market Theatre Foundation.
