He grew up in Cradock.

Career
He was a regular member of the Hanekom Geselskap in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Then joined the André Huguenet company.

He had roles in Die Nagtegaal (1943), Die Sesde Gebod, Geleende Vere, Dodedans and Absolom, my Seun!.
