Moederliefde en Heldenmoed, of De Gevangenis op het Slot 's Gravensteen te Antwerpen ("Motherly love and courage, or the jail on the lock at 's Gravensteen at Antwerp") is a historical tragedy by Arie Ruijsch (1797-1871)[1]
The author's name often found as Arie Ruysch in later publications of the text and in South Africa.

Published in Vlissingen by Wedts de Swart, 1837, in aid of a the construction of a statue for Admiral M.C. de Ruiter.

1887: Performed in Dutch as Moederliefde en Heldenmoed, of De Gevangenis op het Slot 's Gravensteen te Antwerpen by Aurora II in the Drill Hall, Cape Town, on 12 July, with De Verstrooiden (Von Kotzebue).
