Possibly an adaptation by Leonard of the three act musical De Zwarte Kapitein by Rosier Faassen (Pieter Jacobus Faassen) and Jos. Mertens, published by W.Carpentier, S'Gravenhage, 1877.

1886: Performed as De Zwarte Kapitein in the Oddfellows Hall, Cape Town, by Aurora II on 10 December, with De Montfordt's (Leonard).
