Born in May 1965, matriculated in 1984, developed an interest in theatre while at school.

In 1986 she started participating in Township theatre and joined the Sibonile Players for whom she played the lead in Antigone. Between 1989 and 1993 she was active in PACT's school programmes. In 1992 she started working in children's theatre. She played Gracie Jaxa and Sangoma Sannie in Don Gxubane Onner die Boere, 1994.
Meme had roles in the stage productions Acropolis Café (2005), The Amen Corner (2008), MacBeki (Pieter-Dirk Uys, 2009)
She plays Miriam in the 2014 film Alles Wat Mal Is.

She was nominated for a Safta asbest actress in a television comedy for her role in Ga Re Dumele in 2012.
