He played the title role in the film Kini.

Nominated Actor of the Year and Outstanding Actor in a Comedy, National Vita Awards, award year 1996, for The Coloured Museum.
He won the Avanti Award as best Television Actor for Deafening Silence.
He won the All Africa Film Award as Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Reverend Msimango in Cry the Beloved Country.
