The Reluctant Debutante is a play by British politician and playwright William Douglas-Home, (1912-1992) [1]].
First produced in South Africa by the Brian Brooke Company in 1956, with Joan Blake, Diane Wilson (as Jane), directed by Michael Finlayson.
The performance on 26 November 1956 in which many theatre and radio personalities were involved was in aid of Hungary.
Taken on tour (1957) to the then Transvaal and Southern and Northern Rhodesia with Separate Tables.
Produced by The Sandowners directed by Eris Malan, date and venue unknown.
