First performed at the Théâtre Variétés, Paris,  21 September 1812 and published in Paris by Barba in the same year.

According to [[F.C.L. Bosman]],  citing (who ascribes the play to "Seurin") [[Charles Etienne Boniface]] had made a [[Dutch]] translation of it for performance in 1815, though the Dutch title is not mentioned nor details about the performance given. It may be that the play is being confused with  [[Jocrisse in Een Nieuwen Dienst]]
