La Meunière De Gentilly ("The milleress from Gentilly") is a French prose comedy in one act by Pierre-René Lemonnier (1731-1796)[1].


The original text

The play was first performed in Paris by Les Comédiens Italiens ordinaires du Roi on 13 October, 1768 and published by Merlin in 1770.

There are variations in spelling , for the 1770 cover page has: "La meuniere de Gentilly : comédie en un acte, mélée d'ariettes / par M. Le Monier, représentée, pour la premiere fois par les Comédiens Italiens ordinaires du Roi, le jeudi 13 octobre 1768."
