Translated into English and adapted as a one-man show for the stage and directed for South Africa by [[Mario Schiess]] with [[Marius Weyers]] in 1980. The production became a massive hit, financially and economically and critically, being performed around the country and abroad for the following number of years. He won a number of awards for the role, including the [[Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards|Fleur du Cap Award]] in 1980.
