Oidipus is an alternative spelling for Oedipus, referring both to the the mythic character and to the plays. Most often used in Germanic languages, such as Afrikaans, Dutch, German, Swedish, etc. (inter alia for the Afrikaans text of Ted Hughes's version of Oedipus)
