The Syndicate of African Artists was a organisation founded by Khabi Mngoma and Es'kia Mphahlele to promote the arts.

Founded in 1948, the syndicate worked to promote the arts, notably music and theatre, throughout the fifties, a period when black South Africans were prohibited from going to theatres or concert halls in white areas.
