Joanie studied at Akademie vir Dramakuns.
She is married to film-maker Herman Binge. Their son, Ludwig Binge, is also an actor.
Career

She had stage roles in Die Uurwerk Kantel, (Woordfees, 2003), Eet Alles (Aardklop festival, 2004). Other productions include Susanna die Geliefde, Yerma, The Boy Friend, Op Dees Aarde, Jong Dames Dinamiet, Ou Blare.
TV work includes series like Sterretjie, Die jare daarna..., Kinders van die Sabbatsee,
She was seen in the film Tornado (2009) and on television in productions such as Manakwalanners.
