He has worked in the theatre as a technician since the mid-1960s and has in that time been involved in nearly every department, from ballet to opera to drama. He has been based with [[PACT]]’s Afrikaans Drama Company in the 1980s.

He often played small roles on the stage but his first speaking role was in the [[Marius Weyers]] production of ''[[Poppie]]''. He has also appeared in the Christmas pantomime ''[[Robinson Crusoe]]'' and in ''[[Ek, Anna van Wyk]]'' (1985).
