Originally from Duncan Village outside East London, South Africa.

He completed a two-year diploma in the performing arts and communications at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.

=== Career ===
He used to recite poetry at community gatherings before joining the then-undergound ANC in the 1980s and travelling to Zambia for military training. He continued performing his poetry on special occasions.

While in Nigeria he took part in a number of drama and TV productions.

==Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance==
Since returning to South Africa in 1994 he has been involved in community theatre work.

His first appearance at the [[Baxter Theatre]] was as Willie in ''[[Master Harold…and the Boys]]'' in 1999.

His two-man play ''[[Wait]]'' was developed by the [[Cape Town Theatre Laboratory]].
