== Biography ==

Marthinus Johannes Stiglingh was a teacher rather than a professional actor, but in 1946 he was called upon to play Ds. Gompel in the film version of ''[[Die Wildsboudjie]]'', directed by [[Arthur Bennett]] and [[Louis Knobel]]. Perhaps that is why, some 35 years later, director [[Franz Marx]] called upon him to play another clergyman in his film [[Verkeerde Nommer]] (1982).
