+The archive was conceived and constructed because, as the site says, "there is very little recorded about theatre designers in the more formal archives and while there may be production photographs and plans, the people behind them are all too soon forgotten. Yet we have all learnt from them and in many cases passed their knowledge on to younger generations ourselves." It is the aim of this project is to afford the designers of tomorrow the opportunity to learn from these talented people and appreciate the legacy that they will be building on.
