'''The Constant Nymph''' was a controversial and best-selling 1924 novel by [[Margaret Kennedy]]. The author and producer [[Basil Dean]] adapted it for the stage and it was first performed in London on 14 September 1926 with a cast that include Edna Best, [[Noël Coward]], Cathleen Nesbitt and Mary Clare. Adrian Brunel directed a silent film version in 1928 and [[Basil Dean]] a sound one in 1933. An early television version transmitted in 1938 was produced by George More O’Ferrall and Hollywood followed in 1943 with an adaptation directed by Edmund Goulding.

In South Africa the play was first produced at [[His Majesty’s Theatre]] in Johannesburg on 26 September 1930. The large cast include [[Olga Lindo]], [[Claude Saunders]], [[Joan Denton]], [[Margaret Anderson]], [[George R. Montford]], [[Valentine Clemow]], [[Marion Wakeford]], [[Naomi Rutherford]], [[R.
