''The Caine Mutiny'' is a 1951 Pulitzer Prize–winning novel by Herman Wouk. After the novel's success, the court-martial sequence was adapted by Wouk into a full-length, two-act Broadway play, ''The Caine Mutiny Court Martial''.

Directed by Charles Laughton, it was a success on the stage in 1954, opening five months before the release of the film.

In South Africa the play was presented by [[David Bloomberg]] for the [[Theatre Guild]], at the [[Barn Theatre]], Constantia, from 17-20 July 1958 with a repeat performance Theatre Guild production at The [[Labia Theatre]] in December 1961 starring [[Percy Sieff[[ and others.
