The [[South African Republic]] (not to be confused with the [[Republic of South Africa]]) was an independent and internationally recognised state, located in and encompassing the [[Transvaal]] region of South Africa, from 1852 to 1902.

The republic was known as Het [[Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek]] in [[Dutch]], die [[Suid-Afrikaanse Republiek]] in [[Afrikaans]], and was also referred to as the [[ZAR]] or the [[Transvaal Republic]].
