The '''South African Guild of Actors''' (SAGA) is a labour union representing actors in the film, television, stage, commercial and corporate sectors in South Africa. Its aims are to enhance actors' working conditions, compensation and benefits and to be a unified voice on behalf of artists' rights. It was founded after an an open meeting held at the [[Actor's Centre]] at the [[Johannesburg Civic Theatre]] on the 23rd February 2009, organised by [[Carlyn De Waal]], [[Stacy Koma]] and [[Zane Meas]], who chaired the meeting. This was followed by a subsequent meeting in Cape Town, where the formation of a South African Guild of Actors was formally accepted and at a follow-up meeting interim officials were elected, to register SAGA as a trade union.
