He was probably a regular performer in the late 1860s, till 1871.

On 17 April, 1871, the Garrison company presented A benefit performance for him in the [[Theatre Royal, Main Barracks]] (formerly the [[Garrison Theatre]]) in Cape Town. The plays performed were ''[[Who Stole the Pocket-book?, or A Dinner for Six]]'' (Morton), ''[[Wanted, A Young Lady]]'' (Suter) and ''[[An Englishman's House is his Castle]]'' (Morton).
