A French play by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt (1960-). Based on his original French novel ''Oscar et le Dame rose'' (2002), adapted for the stage by Christophe Lidon and staged in French by Anny Duperey in France, Jacqueline Bir in Belgium, Rita Lafontaine in Québec, among others. Also broadcast on France 3 television (2007) and filmed by the author himself in 2009, with Michèle Laroque (2009).

A one-woman South African version of the [[Afrikaans]] text was directed by [[Lara Bye]] with [[Sandra Prinsloo]], and opened at the [[Vryfees]] in Bloemfontein 2012, then toured the festivals between 2012 and 2014, winning numerous awards. . Lighting design [[Pieter-Jan Kap]], with background music by [[Braam du Toit]].

The English version was performed by the same company at the [[Baxter Theatre|Baxter Golden Arrow Theatre]] from 29 July until 23 August 2014, with another run of the [[Afrikaans]] version in the same venue from 5 to 9 August 2014.
