Thirty six years after the opening of the original [[Space Theatre]] in 1972, with the encouragement of its founding members and in line with City Council’s Inner City Development programme, the a new "Space Theatre" opened its doors at the end of 2008 as the or [[NewSpace Theatre]], at the same address.

While the building is owned by Indigo Properties, the theatre was managed by producer [[Colin Law]] and his [[Avro Asia Events Specialists]] company during 2009. By the beginning of 2010 however the company was in financial difficulties.
