 The [[Amateur Coloured Troupe]] was the name given to a private (i.e. non regimental) [[concert]] company, performing in [[blackface]] under in the Minstrelsy[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minstrel_show] style popularized by the [[Christy Minstrels]]. They were active in Cape Town between 1869 and 1871. They seem to have emerged from the [[Y.M.I.
